Merry Christmas From St. Kitts!!

One last blog before I make my way home!

To set the record straight for the last blog, I posted pictures to "represent just a handful of things I am looking forward to", meaning I did not include everything or everyone, or the blog would have never ended!  However, I wanted to include a photo of something that was forgotten on the blog, but is definitely something that is missed!

On Friday night I went out with a couple of the girls!  One more Blue Martini girls night before we all scatter back to North America!  The Marriott was filled with Christmas decorations, we found a giant leopard shoe, and we definitely had a lot of of fun!

On Sunday, a few of us went to Shipwreck Beach to have a bite to eat and enjoy the beautiful St. Kitts weather.  I was told that there are often monkeys around this beach, but assumed that they would be hiding up on cliffs or quickly running by.  Nope.  There were at least 10 monkeys about 2 feet from us at any time!!  You could almost touch them!  It was the cutest and most amazing thing ever that would really only happen on a tropical island!  Weirdly enough, I forgot my camera (what was I thinking?) but was relieved to find out that my neighbors were thoroughly prepared.  Great Caribbean music and monkeys accompanied our dinner, and the view was absolutely amazing!  A must see when traveling to St. Kitts!

When I arrived home from the beach, Andee and I heard a weird noise coming from outside.  After a moment of tentative listening, we soon realized that what we were hearing were fireworks!  Turns out that fellow students were celebrating their graduation with a beautiful display of fireworks that could easily be seen from our balcony!  A perfect ending to a great weekend!

Monday was spent eating Indian, shopping at Port, and hanging out with my Hubby!

Today will be a day of packing, cooking lunches for Andee, and dreaming of McDonald's, as well as spending some time with Andee before I leave for home!

Tomorrow is HOME TIME!!  WAHOO!  SO excited to see everyone!

As a final thought, I just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas from St. Kitts!  To my Canadian Family, I will see you very very soon!  To my St. Kitts Family, I will see you next year!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM ST. KITTS!!!

I look forward to...

To commence my Canadian journey home, I compiled a bunch of pictures to represent just a handful of things I am looking forward to when I return to The Great White North!

On the flip side, here are some amazing qualities about St. Kitts that I will be looking forward too upon my return!

Click on the pictures to make them bigger!

Andee has final exams this week and next, and so will not be going to class this week.  This will give us some time to hang out a bit before I leave!  Thus far, Andee does not know where the garbage goes when it is taken out, has only seen the laundromat once (when he accompanied me there when it was dark) and has no idea where most of the kitchen supplies are kept.  Please pray for Andee that he finds a balance between studying and island living!

Countdown: 3 days!  I can almost feel the wind chill from here...

P.S.
Only in St. Kitts (and Nevis)

Nevis and "New" Cars

Recently Andee decided that island living would be a lot more manageable with a car.  We discussed the pros and cons to having a car, and finally decided that we would try to buy one if the price was right....and it was!

After weeks of contemplation and the stalking of Value MD (a website for students of Caribbean Medical Schools), Andee finally decided on a car that he wanted to purchase - a black Mazda MX3.  The problem - the car was all the way in Nevis!  And how you may ask does one bring a car from one island to the next?  The Ferry of course!  There is a Ferry that brings both cars and their passengers from the neighboring islands of St. Kitts and Nevis daily!  Just add this to the list of obscure and interesting methods of living out our lives!  P.S. we named our car "Jamal"....just saying.

For Andee, the next couple weeks will be filled with studying galore, as he is in the midst of finals!  He will fly home a week after me, and may or may not be greeted with embarrassing and obnoxious signs decorated by the Aldridge Family.  Although he may not be excited about the signs, he will most definitely be excited to be back in Canada!

For me, the next few days will consist of packing, making food for Andee for when I am gone, and enjoying the amazing weather before heading back to the land of snow!  One more worship team on Sunday, one more set of laundry, at least one more beach day, and it's home time at last!

Tonight is Issiah's birthday party (he turns 2!) and happy hour with some of the girls, and on Sunday there is an "end of semester" beach party.  That's right, we have beach parties in December.  Looking forward to the last weekend spent with my St. Kitts friends before the journey home!

Countdown: 5 days!!!  And boy am I ready to go home!
